Youth Mission Trip
During the October school break a group of teenagers gave up most of their already short holiday to serve in a outreach. It was a blessing to lead such a enthusiastic group of young people. We were based at the Bethesda Team Centre in Hammanskraal. Our ministry included children’s work at a local church, children’s work at Bethesda, helping with some practical jobs, and going door to door in the community. The teens were eager to serve and one of the highlights for everyone was the successful door to door visitation. We called in Johan and Engelie from Central’s EE3 ministry to come and do training on how to share your faith effectively. The next day we went into the community armed with cupcakes, maize meal (As a gift to the homes we visited) and of course the gospel of Jesus Christ. After the trip we had a report back session and the whole group was buzzing. Many of the teens have never intentionally gone out to share the gospel and this new experience was exciting for them. Reports came in and it was encouraging to hear so many families being ministered to and 3 first time commitments to Christ were made. Others were encouraged, challenged and prayed for.
Please pray that these new believers would keep serving Christ and grow in Him. Also pray for the ongoing work in the lives of the teens who went and as we think about ways to keep helping them serve and reach out to others.
And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:14
